BARCELONA APPOINT HANSI FLICK AS NEW MANAGER

Hansi Flick has been appointed as the new head coach of Barcelona, taking over from former manager Xavi.

The former Bayern Munich and Germany boss has signed a two-year contract with Barça.

Xavi was sacked a month after Barcelona convinced him to continue as manager, despite his initial plan to leave at the end of the season.

The Catalans finished second in La Liga, 10 points behind champions Real Madrid, and were knocked out from the Champions League in the quarter-finals by Paris Saint-Germain.

Flick has been out of work since September 2023, when he was sacked as manager of the German national team.

In his CV, The 59-year-old HAS back-to-back Bundesliga titles with Bayern and a UEFA Champions League victory, highlighted by an 8-2 win over Barcelona en route to the 2020 Champions League triumph.
