LEEDS STAR TIPPED TO SIGN FOR PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB AS KEY MAN HAS ‘DONE ENOUGH’ TO WARRANT BIG MOVE

Following their relegation from the Premier League, Leeds United are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window as they look to rebuild their squad.

Leeds are now actively searching for a new manager after it was confirmed that Sam Allardyce would be stepping away upon his contract expiring.

While the managerial search continues, several first-team stars are already considering their futures. Indeed, the likes of Brenden Aaronson and Cody Drameh have been attracting interest of late.

Another star who has been tipped to leave is Tyler Adams. The American midfielder joined the club in the summer for a fee of around £20m.

Signing a five-year deal, it was hoped that Adams would be a regular in the Leeds set up for the foreseeable future. However, their relegation to the Championship has now cast doubt over his future.

Adams has been linked with Manchester United, although CBS pundit Charlie Davies thinks that Brighton would be the ideal club for him.

“Brighton are a good shout because Moises Caicedo is probably leaving and you can get a young American player to come in and play, you’re still in European competition so it is a great spot for Tyler Adams,” Davies told CBS Sport.

“He’s done enough to join a team that isn’t battling relegation every year.”

Adams was signed under fellow American Jesse Marsch, but Leeds will be forced to sell some of their key assets following their relegation.

Brighton move does make sense

With Brighton now having European football to contend with, they will be looking to bolster their squad. Under Roberto De Zerbi, the Seagulls have gone from strength to strength.

As they now gear up for Europa League football, a player like Adams could be of use. The 24-year-old does have experience of playing in Europe from his time with RB Leipzig.

In the 2022-23 campaign, Adams made 24 league appearances for Leeds. The midfielder did impress on the whole, despite Leeds themselves underperforming.

While the club is keen on keeping him for next season, they might not have much of a say in the matter. As several players had relegation clauses in their contracts, the club will find it hard to keep hold of their top stars.

With Brighton looking likely to sell the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo, a move for Adams would tick a lot of boxes.

Leeds themselves will have to rebuild their squad for the demands of the Championship. Bouncing back to the Premier League at the first time of asking will be on the agenda. Although that is easier said than done.

Of the three sides relegated from the Premier League in the previous season, only Burnley have bounced back at the first time of asking.

The Championship is looking especially competitive next season and Leeds have a lot of work to do behind the scenes to get their squad in shape.
