HORNER SEES NORRIS SUDDENLY USING HIS ELBOWS: 'HANGOVER FROM SATURDAY'

It was all or nothing in the Austrian Grand Prix for Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. In the end, it came to nothing for both drivers and George Russell ran away with the win after the two men in front of him hit each other and suffered punctures. Norris seemed to be driving more aggressively than before and Christian Horner was also confronted with that observation after the race at Red Bull Racing.

Norris used his elbows in Spielberg. Whether that is a sign that the 24-year-old Briton is growing as a racer? "Lando?", Horner asks. "Probably a bit of a hangover from yesterday. Max passed him without DRS down into Turn 4, and then he got mugged by his teammate."

Norris had some ground to make up

The Red Bull team boss thinks Norris is proving himself after - by his own admission - allowing himself to be beaten too easily by Verstappen on Saturday. The McLaren driver wanted to take the lead at all costs, Verstappen would not budge, and so the duel eventually ended in tears.

"That [Norris' desire to prove himself] left a hangover," Horner said, referring to the fact that for about 50 laps there was actually no problem for Verstappen. "It was a shame because we had everything under control today, and I think the final pit stop put Lando back into contention. With the advantage on tyre that he had, that was enough to get him into the DRS."

Verstappen still did good business in the battle for the world championship. He saw Norris fail to finish and thus take no points, while he himself was able to add 10 points thanks to a fifth-place finish.
